I took this snap of a Turnstone at Scarborough on Sunday. They're called Turnstones because they turn stones over to find food. A lot of birds are named after what they do, Oystercatcher springs to mind, but I'm not sure where the Blue Tit fits in.

Ouch!
The blue tit is named after someone who gets cold about the breasts...lol..now what about the tit willow????
Come to think of it...what about the tit mouse?
Because I'm such a fun person (ha) I had to look up "tit" and you all will be happy to know it is old German for small. Don't you feel better now? I knew you would. Glad I could help.
