Q.) How much wood would a woodpecker peck if a woodpecker could peck wood?

I have always loved birds, except in cages. Wood peckers are fascinating. We have a couple of different ones around here. How cold was the water? Around here it is still 80 degrees but we are supposed to have a real cold front toward the end o the week. All the way to the 50's.

Is that an English woodpecker?

The bird is a Greater Spotted Woodpecker, fairly common to these shores.

The water temperature was very warm as it was within a leisure complex!

That's a cool woodpecker! I am always surprised to see how many varieties there are!

Tough job this lot has, but someone's gotta do it.

Great picture, Bazzer!
