Different days, different rules

On Tuesday the postman left a parcel on our windowsill because it was too big to go through the letter box, and presumably he couldn't be bothered to write out a card and take it back to the sorting office. The fact that anyone could have walked off with it, I guess, wasn't important to him.
On Wednesday we got 2 cards through the door, a parcel for us, and a parcel for Luke who uses our house as a postal address. When Luke went to collect his parcel, yes you've guessed it, they gave him ours.

We have a mail lady that apparently can't read, or doesn't want to be bothered- she's forever putting our mail in our neighbor's box and vice versa, but we'll forgive her since she carries dog treats to occupy our dogs so they don't chase her on down the road.

Sounds like a pretty poor performance from Royal Mail, our postie is really annoying us at the moment by leaving our gate open EVERY day to be blown open and shut open and shut in the wind!

I mailed 20 boxes from Tx to MT .. they left me a card/note. When I called they said the mail woman did not have room for all my packages in her vehicle( like I would in a car ?) . I paid a fortune to ship these. Fortunately the boss realized it was his responsibility and delivered them himself during his lunch break. I did appreciate this!

Yesterday the mail carrier brought a package to my door. She walked up three flights of stairs to do so. Since we live alone at the top, no one ever comes up here but us. I often leave my door open (we have a security screen that stays closed). I also often walk around in just my cut-offs and my bra ... I sure am glad the mail carrier was female.

We have a new postman and he is the grumpiest person I have ever met! He never smiles or says hi or anything...one of these days Im just gonna ask him why he is so pissed off at the whole world.

It does make you worry especially at this time of year. And of course here we have the UPS and FEDEX that deliver too. I have had packages left for me from both the mail and these other kones. Luckily no problems. On the other hand if you have a good neighbor and the postal person knows you trust each other it is good to have a safe place to leave a package.

Our postmen always leave packages. So far we haven't been robed. But I sent a prize to Margaret and the postal lady wouldn't deliver it because the cat has a bad spirit. It takes all kinds.
