You decide! I've also heard that there's an 0800 phone line being set up by Endemol who are keen to make a move into the whole reality tree business. They're gonna be planting celebrity trees and one of the trees will have Davina MacColl up it. I have it on good authority that a copse is a forest regrown from roots of trees, rather than one planted with seeds. It's like a jungle out there, ain't it?
Great question! I like the term 'copse', although whenever I see it I mistake it for 'corpse'. What about a grove? How many trees in a grove? And that looks like 'grave'.

Bazza, it's simple: a forest is an entire ecosystem that has been untouched by any human harvesting. A wood is just a bunch of trees with nothing better to do than to enjoy not having much marketable timber value. And copse-----those are the guys I work with at my job. See? Simple.
