Feed the ducks

The thing with lakes and ponds is they usually have ducks on them, and if Harry sees ducks he has to feed them. It has got to the point where we have to keep a loaf of bread in the boot of the car, just in case. If the top 3 ducks in the picture are Mallards, does anyone know what the one at the bottom is?

Bazza, I know! It's pretty!

My guess is, it's a mallard, but either an odd color pattern or a hybrid of some sort. Compare the black-breasted male mallard here. Mallards are notorious for cross-breeding with, well, anything remotely ducklike - to the extent that some biologists claim that there should be only one species of duck: the Duck.

Based on OC's explanation, I say it's a duck.

Happy New Year, Bazza and Wifey and kiddies, too.

Special thanks to OC, for an answer i can buy into.
Thanks also to quilly, nessa and cindy for trying, hmmmmm.
and Cindra, I think you'd call it a trunk, anyway it's that thing at the back that you keep all your junk in, unless you have a beetle of course.
